Cementing her status as a global icon, Deepika Padukone will see her wax figure placed in Madame Tussauds’ London studio.
Reports say that her statue won’t be in the separate Bollywood section, but instead will be amongst other icons who are known the world over in an exclusive A-list section.
This isn’t surprising, as the former Maxim covergirl has been an international hit in various spheres lately; to name a few, she was included in the most recent edition of the Time’s annual list of the world’s most influential people and was declared by many outlets to be among the best dressed at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
That the 2017 Maxim Hot 100 winner’s statue will be an addition can be confirmed by her social media handles as well as the official ones for Madame Tussauds London, both of which have released pictures of her being measured for the same.
The process is expectedly a laborious one, so one can expect her waxy doppelgänger to mingle with its neighbours sometime in 2019, and the New Delhi addition will be seen soon after that.
Serving blockbuster after blockbuster, Padukone has steadfastly maintained both her resolve and her unstoppably powerful on-screen presence, and we're constantly on tenterhooks waiting for her next.
