Miles Teller has emerged victorious in the battle of the young guns for the role of Goose’s son in the sequel to the 1986 film, Top Gun.
Up against Nicholas Hoult and Glen Powell for the position to soar with Tom Cruise, the Whiplash actor proved his acting chops when he tested with Maverick himself, and scored a role of a lifetime.

Glen Powell took to social media to react to losing out on the role, and it’s hilarious in the most heart-wrenching manner.

Directed by Joseph Kosinski, Tom Cruise: Maverick is slated to release on July 12, 2019.
