Every year, on the first Monday of May, the fashion extravaganza that is the Met Gala is held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, and every year the outfits are a magnificent sight to behold.
This invitation-only fundraiser is a themed event, and this year saw those who were lucky enough to be in attendance have to comply with the theme “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination”, and the stars didn’t fail in making jaws drop.
The #MetHeavenlyBodies display at The #MetCloisters includes fashion inspired by the Holy Sacraments of the Catholic Church. Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone dominated the red carpet with their heavenly Catholicism-derived outfits, among the various iterations of the Pope and Jesus that were present (and Katy Perry’s six-foot wings).
