Here’s a collab you never knew you wanted: Dua Lipa, the electrifying British-Kosovan singer who’s topping charts worldwide, and Jaguar, the luxury carmaker.
After teasing clips for a while, the reason behind their coming together was revealed (during a gig of hers in Amsterdam) to be for the exclusive remix of her song ‘Want To.’ But, the real catch is that the song was remixed with the help of Jaguar’s all-electric car, I-PACE. After the singer drove the vehicle, sensors in the car tracked her driving method and remixed the song according to that, leading to a further fusion of music and technology.
Everything was considered: from the way she braked, to the way she accelerated, and the amount of electric energy consumed, it all came together to influence the beat and tempo of the song.
If you can’t make it to an actual Jaguar, they’ve also launched a way of remixing her song through combing through your Spotify playlists and identifying the common energy, pace and tempo of the songs. The variations of the song are endless, from hip-hop to orchestra versions, your taste decides it all. A third option available is to simple tap a beat and rhythm on your phone.
It's safe to say that Lipa and Jaguar are coming up with new rules to produce music.
