This British teen drama television series was Patel’s first venture into acting. The show followed a group of teenagers and the struggles they faced in their lives. He played Anwar Kharral, a boy of Pakistani origin.

2) THE NEWSROOM

Another television series, his portrayal of Neal Sampat on the show earned him a NAACP Image Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.

 

 

3) THE ROAD WITHIN

Patel played a boy with obsessive-compulsive disorder in this film about three people who run away from a centre for those with psychological disorders.

 

4) THE BEST EXOTIC MARIGOLD HOLDEL 

Odds are you’ve seen this film, but if you haven’t then make sure you watch Patel hold his own while acting alongside actors like Judi Dench, Maggie Smith, and Bill Nighy in this film about a group of British pensioners who move to a retirement hotel in India that is run by Patel’s character.
