Resident Evil: Revelations

This game doesn’t pull any punches, but then it is a franchise that people have grown to love. This particular title is an HD version of the 3DS version that came out in January, but the good news is that Revelations hones in on what made the series great: Pacing, purposeful action and a morbid, ghostly setting that makes playing without the lights on impossible. The element of being in a confined space with no escape can get a little stifling at times, no matter how much you like the moodiness. The action sequences are surprisingly enjoyable and the main characters are, but we’d have loved some more depth to the levels. Sure, the hordes of infected bio-organic monsters coming at you en masse are fun to fire on, but you need some serious ammo.
