PlayStation 4

Lead-Gizmos-6

The PlayStation 4, which Sony is expected to drop in the coming months, offers a massive increase in the perceived power of a home console. It also has an eight-core main processor—the x86-64 AMD “Jaguar”—and a class-staple of 8 GB RAM and a 500 GB hard drive. Another big drawcard? The huge emphasis on online connectivity and two super-speed USB 3.0 ports and Bluetooth connectivity. The box is also capable of second-screen features we’ve been dreaming about, whether it be stunningly immersive gaming or access to stored content that you’ve downloaded earlier. The most exciting bit? The new Dualshock 4 wireless controller, with its six-axis sensor and touch pad that take you, well, into the action in the game. Not to forget the share capability, which is now available at the click of a button. Social spectating, here we come.playstation.com
