The Lamborghini Egoista Concept marks 50 years of the legendary carmaker.
The Egoista is Walter De Silva’s (the head of design at the Volkswagen Group) homage to the House of the Raging Bull’s half-century. This single-seater is powered by a 5.2-litre V-10 engine that puts out a buffed-up 600 horses. The cockpit, designed bespoke for the driver, is a removeable section which, once assembled with the rest of the vehicle, creates a seamless mechanical and aerodynamic unit. The car is highly muscular, and the empty/solid areas fit together with vigour. The Egoista’s lights are more like an aircraft’s than a road vehicle’s, and it does not have traditional headlights. Its funky LED clearance lights determine their position not just on a single plane (such as the road), but in three dimensions à la airspace. Truth be told, this car is a fitting gift from Lamborghini to Lamborghini.
