NG ALL DOUBTS ABOUT A CADILLAC PUTTING ALL DOUBTS ABOUT A CADILLAC revival to rest, the 2016 Cadillac CTS-V is placing itself as an impressive bargain among the gamut of less capable luxury performance sedans, with its abundant power and style. A supercharged 6.2-litre V8 engine, upgraded with direct injection and a smaller, more efficient supercharger, delivers a mind-boggling performance of 640 horsepower and 630 pound-feet of torque. Equipped with Cadillac’s paddle-shift eight-speed automatic transmission featuring launch control and Performance Algorithm Shifting, the CTS-V will accelerate from 0—100 kmph in 3.7 seconds with a top speed of 320 kmph.
The elite V-Series was first launched a decade ago, and Cadillac president Johan de Nysschen testifies, “V-Series represents the very best of the Cadillac brand. The new CTS-V is the most compelling example of Cadillac’s product substance and brand trajectory.” Several updates make the CTS-V two cars in one: A luxury sedan with sophisticated road manners and a track-capable sports car right off the factory table.
The CTS-V also offers a Performance Data Recorder, an on-board video cam that can record lap times on a track day with data overlays, basically bestowing you with bragging rights as you upload your stats straight onto social media.
