As she sips on a “spicy, woody and fruity” kinda wine, the TV veteran discusses Patrón Café shots, interviewing politicians, her travel itineraries and what the future holds.
We've watched her host some kick-ass shows on MTV, Sony and scores of other channels over the last decade. More recently she was seen grilling politicians, industrialists and veteran opinionmakers on the hit talk show Dilli Dil Se. If you ask Mini, it was a big change from what she’s been used to doing: “Twenty five popular shows later I seem to have lost interest because Indian TV is in a rut and there’s no premium on being an experienced and seasoned host. Dilli Dil Se put me to test in an extreme way. I sat across Sheila Dikshit, Prabhu Chawla, Nandan Nilekani, Vinod Dua, etc and did one-hour, in-depth interviews. I had to know what I was talking about, right?” 100 percent.
Another thing Mini knows well is her drinks. “I’m a bit bi-polar when it comes to drinks even though I’m not much of a drinker. At a relaxed formal soiree, I’d choose a red wine. At an action-packed evening with friends I knock down Patrón Cáfe shots. At a beach or pool, I prefer Malibu with coconut water and a dash of pineapple juice. Oh, and I never drink alone!”
But she might consider getting a drink with you if you order the sexiest drink on the menu. “A bourbon, or a smoky single malt.” Mini is also a big travel geek. “I live to travel. I make money only so I can keep hopping all over the globe,” she laughs. Besides travelling through Spain, Turkey, the Philippines and Australia, Mini is busy writing a script and finishing a course in cinematography. We're happy to announce that you can expect to see a lot more as she moves towards her exciting directorial debut.
